×Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René is a traditional, sour cherry lambic blend that is only produced once per year, making it a very special treat for beer lovers around the world. Each bottle gets its distinctive deep scarlet color and juicy, sour taste from whole sour cherries - pits and all! Each batch is crafted at our historic Belgian brewery from spontaneously or ‘wild’ fermented lambic beer that has been aged in oak barrels, called 'foeders' and blended with fruit. We then combine barrels of one and three-years-old lambic, and allow the bottles to undergo a second fermentation as they 'rest' for 6 months. We use the oldest method of brewing in the world to brew this EU-protected style and are one of only a handful of breweries that remain dedicated to brewing lambic beer today!
Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René has a sparkling, deep red color and a distinctive complex, sour taste. It is bottled like champagne with a cork, cap and festive red foil, and available in 12oz bottles.
Due to the second fermentation that takes place in the bottle, the shelf life is the same as that of a high quality bottle of wine. Bottles can be stored in a cellar lying on their sides for up to 10 years and often more, saved for a special occasion as the taste continues to develop.
