About

True's Gourmet Hot Mustard is a gourmet condiment that brings a delicious tangy flavor with sweet heat to every meal. This versatile sauce is perfect for marinades, dips, sauces, and even dressings. Its irresistible taste makes it a thoughtful gift and a must-have in every kitchen.

Founding Story

In 2020, the world was struck by the pandemic, and life as we knew it came to a sudden halt. As a freelance photo stylist, Mary Clayton Jones’ work was put on hold, leaving her with ample time on her hands. To pass the time and stay connected with friends, she turned to her mother's famous mustard recipe and started making it for all of her friends.

The response was nothing short of overwhelming. Her friends couldn't get enough of the delicious mustard, and the requests for more just kept pouring in. It was in that moment that Mary Clayton realized her mother's cherished family recipe had the potential to become something much bigger.

With the support and encouragement of her friends and colleagues, she decided to take the plunge and turn this beloved recipe into a business venture. In honor of her mother, Trueheart, Mary Clayton decided to name the company after her. They just launched last year and now are almost nationwide! Mary Clayton and her mother (who just turned 90) have worked hard with their co-packer, as they scaled up, to keep the velvety consistency that makes True’s Gourmet Hot mustard so special. She says it has truly been a huge learning curve, but absolutely worth it when you hear how much people like it. Not to mention seeing her mom’s legacy live on!
