Founding Story
Former Sr. Director of Marketing at Creme of Nature, Teneya Gholston, is not your average corporate professional.
She leveraged her skills as a licensed cosmetologist, combined with corporate business knowledge, to build an impressive career.
Gholston has led teams and developed marketing strategies for various global beauty brands, including Revlon, Lottabody, and Arosci.
Her track record includes successful brand curation, team leadership, national retail distribution, and innovative idea development.
Gholston is highly respected and well-connected in the industry, notably for her role in revitalizing the iconic brand, Creme of Nature, within black beauty culture.
But moreso, Teneya is a hair enthusiast who has deep love, admiration, and respect for women with deep textures. She also understands that there is a lot of depth behind these women and unapologetically celebrates underrepresented communities where texture and culture run deep.

Founder
Teneya Gholston is an experienced Beauty Retail Marketing Executive who focuses on strategic business, marketing and product development consulting for established and emerging beauty, health and wellness brands.
As the former Sr. Director of Marketing at Creme of Nature she isn’t just your run-of-the-mill corporate type. She used her talent as a stylist in the salons, learned the corporate ways of business and has parlayed that into an incredible and award-winning career including leading teams and marketing strategy for multiple global beauty brands including Revlon, Lottabody & Arosci.
Gholston started fresh out of college, after receiving her MBA from Florida A&M University and explored what it was like to run a salon and soon landed her corporate position in brand management. Since then, she has moved from brand manager, to marketing manager to the executive team and is one of the most respected and well-connected forces in the industry thanks in part to award winning leadership in product development and the successful revival of one of the most iconic brands in black beauty culture, Creme of Nature.
When she is not leading the growth of a multimillion-dollar multicultural hair care business, Teneya enjoys sharing her product development and marketing expertise. She created Behind the Beauty Brand by Beauty Boss Collective, a virtual mentor series, to empower, educate and inspire beauty preneurs and corporate beauty bosses.
She has been recognized by Curl Box as Visionary Marketer of the Year 2018, is a two time recipient of the Revlon Global Driver Award and has been featured on Black Enterprise, Thrive Global and Rolling Out. Gholston believes firmly in supporting community initiatives and empowering women in business. She is a board member of the Jacksonville MOSH Museum and Boss Women Media, plus she served on the Revlon Diversity & Inclusion Council.
