There’s nothing better than the post-Pilates feeling. Moving your body, stretching, feeling stronger. But Pilates has always been seen as a once-in-a-while treat. Whether you’re trying to squeeze it in during busy work weeks, have less time as a mom, or can only budget a couple of classes a month, it’s hard to make Pilates a more consistent part of your life — until now.
We’re Somato, an at-home fitness company making the most compact, lightweight, and beautiful Pilates reformer on the market. Somato was started on the belief that we should have the option to do Pilates whenever we want, without the commuting, membership fees, no-show fees, or packed classes. Just you and your Pilates, so you can always feel your best.
Founding Story
Somato got its start in a small Brooklyn apartment, where a tiny space and expensive Pilates classes inspired founder, Hannah Fink, to design a Pilates reformer that delivers quality workouts without compromise. To fund her dream, Hannah moved home and invested her savings into her company. For the next three years she prototyped tirelessly in her family's garage, perfecting the design that would become Somato — the most compact, beautifully designed Pilates reformer on the market.
But Somato is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about accessibility. Hannah knows from personal experience that physical wellness is often hardest to access when it’s needed the most. With studio Pilates classes costing upwards of $300 per month, Somato provides an affordable alternative that eliminates the need for expensive memberships, commuting, and the hassle of signing up for classes. It’s designed to fit into the lives of busy women, and especially new mothers, who often struggle to find time for self-care. Somato offers studio-quality Pilates in the comfort of your home, making fitness more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
