Combining the best of both worlds, this collaboration blends RISE's delicious cold brew coffee with Iron Horse's popular dark beer, Mocha Death.

This exciting collaboration has produced a delightful beverage that’s a dream come true for both coffee enthusiasts and beer lovers. The Mocha Death Beer offers a smooth, frothy head with rich coffee and chocolate notes, and its balanced flavor delivers a moderately sweet, low-bitter taste, creating the perfect harmony between coffee and beer.

The story of Mocha Death began two decades ago with a serendipitous mistake by Iron Horse, turning what could have been a brewing mishap into a smash hit. Fast forward to today, Iron Horse officially introduced RISE’s nitro cold brew into their recipe. This playful twist led to a serious collaboration, bringing together RISE's mission of providing good energy for good people and Iron Horse’s dedication to creating human connections through fermentation.

“When Iron Horse made our first variation on Irish Death, our most popular dark beer, it was a mistake. A sleepy brewer let the mash get sparged with too much water making a 'light' irish death. In a moment of start-up ingenuity or desperation, we ran to the store for some cocoa powder and it worked! Mocha Death was born,” said Greg Parker at Iron Horse Brewery. “This union fills us with enthusiasm since RISE provides good energy for good people to do good things which is just what Iron Horse needs to fulfill our purpose of creating human connection with fermentation. The new Mocha Death Beer is available at select fine retailers, as well as national chains like Walmart, Total Wine & More, Safeway, and Albertsons, across Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho.

Our story is a lot like our beer; unconventional.
