(New York, NY) October 27, 2020 –– RIND Snacks, makers of crave-able and nutritious whole fruit snacks, is excited to announce the launch of ‘Love is RIND’ – a new campaign dedicated to addressing issues of childhood hunger and nutrition insecurity. Through Love is RIND, the company provides regular weekly donations to public school children in underprivileged communities. The program helps nourish bodies and minds by providing better-for-you fruit snacks along with fun, educational information that teaches kids the importance of clean, nutritious snack habits.
Nutrition insecurity is a real problem for America’s youth. 1 in 6 American children do not know where their next meal is coming from and too often when that food arrives, it is lacking in substantive nutrition. As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many schools across the country remain closed, leaving vulnerable students who rely on school meals at risk of not receiving adequate nutrition options. Love is RIND has partnered with local organizations, food banks and schools to donate its snacks to children on Fridays as a way to help bridge weekend food needs for kids and their families.

The program kicked off on September 25, in partnership with the Baltimore Hunger Project and has occurred each week since throughout Washington D.C. communities with plans to expand to other cities in the future. Love is RIND is designed to adopt partner schools for the long-term, with weekly donations and distributions of 1,000 snacks made throughout the year. This allows RIND to build meaningful relationships with the communities where its products are sold and create enduring change.
