Pine 617 is currently owned and operated by Maegan Cruz. As the sole operator, she will stock and staff the stall. The owner will be on-site during all hours of stall operation, and alternative plans will be made as needed. As Pine 617's perfumist, Maegan Cruz is fully knowledgable about products, production standards, and new directions. She will also keep a binder onsite to answer customer questions. As the business sustainably grows, we hope to hire and train at least one additional sales staff for a retail location.

Maegan Cruz is the visionary perfumer and founder behind Pine 617. Her creative journey began at 17 as an art instructor and quickly advanced to assistant art director. While working at a major home fragrance retailer, Maegan excelled in converting high-value customers and introducing customers to new favorite fragrances- she became a highly requested team member at store locations across the state. While completing her degree in Political Science, Maegan gained diverse experience working for the federal government and non-profits, managing the emerging fashion brand Hogoe Kpessou, and implementing successful e-commerce strategies as a product manager at Tory Burch.

Selected from over 2,000 applicants, Maegan is a member of the inaugural cohort of Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women in Business program. Self-taught in perfumery, Maegan now channels her extensive skills with creativity, sales, communication, e-commerce, and product management into Pine 617. She has planned and hosted several educational workshops in fragrance creation, and has developed niche scents that have earned her praise from fragrance professionals.

As a new graduate of the Boston Public Market Entrepreneurship program, she aims to expand her business into retailers.
