Founding Story
Our story begins with our Founder and CEO, Masa Kinemuchi, a native of Japan who grew up surrounded by the country's highest-quality water sources. His family's two-century legacy in rice farming instilled in him a profound respect for the purity and importance of water, not just for agriculture but as a source of life and health.
After relocating to the U.S., Masa was struck by the absence of the water he grew up with in Japan. He realized that nothing could compare to the pure Japanese spring water he had taken for granted back home. This longing for the quality and taste of Mt. Fuji's water inspired Masa to take action.
Masa's inspiration soon found Takashi Nakamura, a seasoned expert in Japan's domestic water distribution and logistics. Nakamura shared Masa's passion for bringing Japan's best to the world. Together, they formed MTN WTR Co in 2017 to fill a void in the U.S. market. Their dedication led to the successful first product launch of MTN WTR in 2022, providing the first Japanese naturally alkaline, premium spring water from Mt. Fuji.
