Founding Story

Motette was founded by Samantha Gold, a former tech and fashion executive and mother of two, who recognized a gap in the market for stylish yet functional children’s clothing. Inspired by her own search for elevated, comfortable clothing for her little ones, Sam set out to create a brand that seamlessly blended fashion with function.


In the months leading up to Motette’s launch, Sam took a unique approach by building the brand in public. She invited her growing community of moms to be part of every decision—from selecting prints and naming styles to choosing brand colors and refining product designs. By sharing the behind-the-scenes journey, she cultivated a loyal following long before the first product ever hit the market.


Launched in March 2025, Motette’s debut collection nearly sold out within days, powered not by traditional influencer campaigns, but by real, personal connections with moms who had been part of the process from the start. With a focus on high-quality, organic fabrics and thoughtful design, Motette stands as a testament to the power of community-driven brands and the value of transparency in today’s DTC landscape.

Motette was founded in 2024 by Samantha Gold following the birth of her children, Blair and Wesley. Frustrated by the lack of beautiful, elevated designs in children's clothing, she set out to create a brand that combined style, comfort, and practicality. Motette offers thoughtfully crafted pieces featuring unique prints and high-quality bamboo fabrics that are soft, breathable, and gentle on delicate skin. Designed to keep kids cozy throughout the day and night, the brand’s pajamas allow little ones to sleep soundly and play effortlessly while maintaining a refined aesthetic. Motette provides parents with a trusted option that prioritizes both quality and design.

Before launching Motette, Samantha Gold served as the CEO of a contemporary women’s brand and spent over a decade in tech, holding leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies. These experiences equipped her with the expertise to effectively manage and scale Motette, ensuring the brand’s commitment to excellence in both craftsmanship and customer experience.
