Established in the 1940s, the Jack N' Jill Kids brand quickly became a household name, fondly remembered by many Australian children who grew up in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Today, the brand has been revitalized by Melbourne-based couple Rachel and Justin Bernhaut. Recognizing its relevance for modern, health-conscious parents, the couple has expanded Jack N' Jill’s reach, with its products now sold in over 50 countries. Their range includes organic fruit flavored toothpaste, teething gel, tooth wipes, manual and electric toothbrushes, silicone brushes, a bath time range and more.

Jack N' Jill's charming and kid-friendly designs ensure parents are happy to have the products on display. Committed to sustainability, Jack N' Jill has developed the first children's toothbrushes with biodegradable and recyclable handles made from non-GMO cornstarch and their toothpastes are all ECOCERT verified. The company emphasizes its environmental responsibility by using natural, hypoallergenic ingredients and minimal, recyclable, BPA-free packaging. Jack N' Jill continues to innovate while staying true to its roots of providing safe and effective oral care for children.

Founding Story

Melbourne couple Justin and Rachel Bernhaut were working as photographers in New York City when they started searching for a toothpaste suitable for their first child. After trying every toothpaste Whole Foods and Walmart had to offer their child spit it out every time and they quickly realized there was a problem. "When we had kids we had the same epiphanies that all parents have," Rachel says. "They weren't interested in brushing their teeth because they couldn't stand the taste."

Justin's background is a pharmacist (along with his father's) so further investigation revealed the reason the toothpaste "tasted like crap" was "nasty chemicals" that went into the toothpaste. The Bernhauts decided to reinvigorate the Jack N' Jill toothpaste business, owned by Justin's father at the time and familiar to many families growing up in Australia the 1950s.

The husband and wife duo spent over a year formulating the perfect toothpaste that included natural and safe ingredients, but was also effective at cleaning teeth and tasted yummy. Over a decade later, the Jack N' Jill Kids brand has evolved to include eight organic fruit flavored toothpastes (and a flavor free option!) toothbrushes, flossers, newborn oral care products, bath time products and more.
