JACKSONVILLE, FL-- DuBlasé Whiskey Founder and CEO, Darrin Eakins, has launched the DuBlasé Foundation to champion minorities into a brighter future in S.T.E.M. 

While the expansion of DuBlasé Whiskey continues to soar into new markets across the United States. The award-winning spirit brand’s owner doubles down on his philanthropic efforts with the launch of the DuBlasé Foundation. The foundation is a 501c3 organization that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through education and advocacy. “We are excited about our work in the community. The foundation provides resources and academic enrichment to underserved communities to empower the next set of leaders.” Eakins credits his mentors who exposed him to STEM fields of study as a youth, which ultimately drove his decision to study engineering at Florida A&M University, a historically black college/university (HBCU). 

“STEM changed my life. I am able to have a successful career in engineering, all the while scaling a STEM based venture in spirits, DuBlasé Whiskey. It’s my goal to pay it forward and inspire the next generation of thinkers and creators” Eakins said. That goal has become a reality for the serial entrepreneur. He has committed to donating a portion of DuBlasé Whiskey’s annual sales to the foundation which focuses on three initiatives: 1) providing resources and scholarships to youth organizations for conferences, competitions, equipment and supplies for their organizations. 2) Selecting professionals with a vested interest in sharing their best advice, insight, and experience to support the academic, professional, and cultural development of the youth. 3) Creating partnerships with youth organizations, institutions of higher education, and professionals to stimulate and sustain student interest in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math fields.

While many may not connect the initial correlation between STEM and spirits, the two are uniquely intertwined. Spirits are produced at distilleries and that is where STEM comes into play. The distillation process is commonly used in chemistry and engineering. It is the technique used to separate components of a mixture based on their different boiling points. The process is widely used for purifying liquids, separating mixtures, and extracting specific compounds. Now, the technical terms may not interest some at first, but working in an socially popular industry which generated 484 billion dollars in 2022 may spark the interest of a few minds to look into STEM fields of study. And that is the goal of the DuBlasé Foundation, to provide, to inspire and advocate.
