Founding Story
The Beginning of Between Spaces
I launched Between Spaces in the fall of 2023, inspired by a period of immense growth and transition in my life. Just before starting this journey, I had been let go from a senior marketing role at an advertising agency. While job layoffs have become increasingly common, that didn’t make the experience any less anxiety-inducing. Like many others in similar situations, I found myself scrambling to apply for any position that seemed like a fit.
At the same time, I was facing another significant shift—a divorce—which meant navigating how to support both my son and myself. Losing a job, regardless of the circumstances, makes you feel rejected. It shakes your identity. And when you add in the responsibility of a young child who looks up to you, the weight of it all feels immeasurable.
Finding Purpose Through Transition
During this period of uncertainty, I found myself asking: What do I truly want to create? What matters to me?
The answer didn’t come right away. But life has a way of forcing clarity upon you.
Shortly after my layoff, my father passed away unexpectedly, requiring me to travel back to Pakistan. Amidst the grief and change, the concept for Between Spaces emerged—a lifestyle brand that acknowledges the in-between moments of life. Those uncertain, messy, yet transformative spaces where we grow the most.
I had experienced loss in multiple ways—career, relationships, stability—and yet, through it all, I began to see a new beginning forming. Between Spaces is about embracing these transitions, rather than fearing them.
Redefining Growth and Identity
For a long time, I felt as though I had stereotyped labels stamped on my forehead. But I quickly realized that I wasn’t alone in this feeling.
We all carry these silent fears—the worry that society defines us by our setbacks rather than our resilience. But these labels do not define us. We are all evolving, growing, and transitioning. And that is something to be celebrated, not hidden.
Between Spaces is about owning your journey. It’s about reframing challenges as opportunities and wearing your story proudly—whether that’s through fashion, mindset, or the way you navigate life.

Team Bios
I was born in New York to Pakistani parents, shaped by a life that’s always existed between worlds. From the ages of 10 to 15, I lived in Pakistan, absorbing a culture deeply rooted in tradition while navigating the push and pull of my Western upbringing. At 15, I moved to London, where the city’s energy and diversity expanded my perspective even further. That blend of movement, adaptation, and reinvention became second nature—something I’ve carried into everything I do.
My career has been a reflection of that same fluidity. I started in the music industry, working at Sony Music and Universal Music, where I learned the power of culture, storytelling, and brand-building. Later, I led digital innovation at Equinox and then helped shape the future of content and commerce at Amazon, driving marketing and brand strategy for some of the biggest platforms in the world.
But Between Spaces is personal. This brand is about movement—not just physical, but the transitions that define us. It’s for those who live between disciplines, between identities, between one place and the next. Inspired by my moments in transition and growth, I wanted to create apparel that adapts to life’s rhythms—effortlessly balancing form and function.
