Founding Story

The inception of our brand began with a personal journey and a professional passion.

Dr. Mika Gupta, affectionately known as "Dr. Brain Mom," is not only an award-winning neurologist but also a devoted mother. Her dual roles provided her with a unique perspective on the critical importance of brain health from the earliest stages of life.

In December 2013, just moments after her son was born, Dr. Mika Gupta, a board-certified neurologist learned that her baby boy, Ajax, had Down Syndrome.

“From the moment I saw him, I was in love with my little boy. And I knew, without a doubt, that I would do everything I could to give Ajax the best chance at a happy and healthy life.”

As a neurologist, she understood that proper brain development is the foundation for a healthy brain. In June 2015, she and her husband launched Best Nest Wellness, starting with Mama Bird Prenatal Multi+, and followed soon after with their Kids Multi+.

Driven by a mission to empower families to achieve their full potential, Dr. Gupta meticulously researched and selected ingredients known for their ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and offer optimal absorption and bioactivity.

A board-certified neurologist and mother, Dr. Gupta is also known as Dr. Brain Mom. She has a degree in biochemistry and humanities from MIT, and completed her neurology residency in New York City. 

Dr. Gupta was inspired to create Best Nest Wellness after learning her son Ajax had Down Syndrome. She wanted to create a prenatal vitamin that was convenient to take and made with methylated vitamins, which she believed were best for a developing baby. 

Best Nest Wellness creates brain-supporting supplements for every life stage, including preconception, pregnancy, postnatal, childhood, and parenthood. Their supplements are designed to support neuro-development, immunity, energy, stress reduction, and sleep.
