We care A LOT at Romer about Corporate Social Responsibility. In our own efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and commit to sustainability across our entire supply chain, one company we look up to is J&J. They leverage wind power and provide safe water to communities around the world. They plan to utilize 100% renewable energy sources for their energy needs by 2025 and have specifically invested in renewable energy companies to reduce pollution. We applaud their approach to climate action. SOURCE: https://www.jnj.com/environmental-sustainability/climate-and-energy-action

One company I admire and aspire to be like is Spanx. The fact that Spanx was built based on the idea and the struggle of the founder, that she never forgot where she came from and how hard, yet rewarding it was to grow the company, is an inspiration to myself and my brand, HMÉTÉ.

Hi Emilee!

Posting on behalf of Lindsey Mallon, founder of Nadjarina + Splyt:

your eye.

Nadjarina is a brand that was built with a focus on the deeper progressions of sustainability and ethical, transparent business practices. It is important to bring a sense of community and humanity to the workspace, especially in an industry so well known for the lack thereof. My long-term vision is to eventually have a multi-functional space that has a farm-to-table element to bring people together, and also has all of the production and development on sight as a self-sustaining community and lifestyle space. I co-founded the blockchain company Splyt to create traceability and transparency from raw materials through sales, and to begin to hold brands accountable to the ethics that they preach. It’s something I’m very passionate about- merging technology to support a return to eco-friendly and organic practices. As Splyt has now evolved into Shopx.co, my goal is to continue progressing business ethics and creating transparent consumer-business landscapes through Nadjarina ethos and blockchain technology to allow transparent manufacturing and sales practices.

For this reason, I really admire what Brunello Cuccinelli has done with Solomeo. I read once that his workers are all on-sight there, and that he sits and has lunch with them every day. The idea that he has created this family-like space, and is restoring this old village into a space of beauty- has always resonated deeply with me. He has a quote, “true economy begins with dignity,” that has kind of become a mantra for me in my business practices.

1) Brittany Baker, Founder & CEO

2) We aspire to be like Whole Foods Market due to their transparency with their customers and their reach. At the time of the founding of Whole Foods, they were thought to be an outlier and now are an industry leader with reach to millions of consumers throughout the country. We admire how they are transparent with consumers about their sourcing, quality and sustainability efforts and these are all values that we share openly. We believe it is of the utmost importance that consumers understand where their food comes from and what ingredients are in it, which is why we believe in 100% transparency on our end, and we will continue with this practice as we grow.
