Today's pick: "Retail sales fell 0.6% in November as consumers feel the pressure from inflation" from CNBC

Q4 is traditionally one of the biggest for retail sales each year as shoppers hunt for holiday gifts. This year, however, external dynamics made the end of the year a little less certain. Consumer purchasing slowed in November, according to the Commerce Department and reporting from CNBC.

"The pullback was widespread across categories. Furniture and home furnishings stores reported a decrease of 2.6%, building materials and garden centers were off 2.5%, and motor vehicle and parts dealers dropped 2.3%."
