"We’re happy to announce that we’re now accepting submissions for the PEOPLE Food Awards 2022, where we feature the best new food and drink products available at national supermarkets. The winners will be revealed in PEOPLE’s July 4th issue, which will be on stands and on People.com on June 22nd.

OVERVIEW:
To determine the best new foods of the year, products will be tested by the PEOPLE editorial staff and a panel of chefs and tastemakers. We are accepting submissions in all major supermarket categories, including but not limited to:
Breakfast/Bakery: bagels, oatmeal, cereal, bread, pancake mix, ready-to-eat baked goods, etc.
Pantry Staples: pasta/noodles, beans, rice, soups, stock, baking mixes, etc.
Snacks: crackers, chips, granola bars, cookies, nuts, popcorn, candy/chocolate, etc.
Sauces, Spreads, and Condiments: salad dressings, pasta sauce, hummus, mustard, peanut butter, salsa, etc.
Fridge & Frozen: frozen pizza, frozen meals, nuggets, dumplings, pre-made dough, etc.
Meats & Seafood: burgers, bacon, hot dogs, tuna, charcuterie kits, jerky, etc.
Dairy: cheese, milk, butter, yogurt, eggs, cream cheese, smoothies, sour cream, etc.
Drinks: juices, sparkling waters, sodas, coffee, tea, etc. (no alcoholic drinks, please)
Frozen Desserts: ice cream, frozen cakes/pies, novelties, etc.
Plant-Based: “meats,” alternative milks, dairy-free cheeses and ice creams, etc.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Products must have launched or been released between July 2021 and June 2022, and remain on shelves at least through October 2022. If your product will be launching between April and June 2022, please let us know so we can discuss how to consider it in our tastings.
Products must be available in AT LEAST ONE national supermarket chain (like Albertsons, Kroger, Food Lion/Giant, Wegmans, Walmart, Target, Publix, Costco, Safeway, etc.) Note: If your product(s) is available in Whole Foods or Aldi (and is not the in-house brand), it must also be available in at least one other major national grocery chain.
Products only sold through Amazon, Fresh Direct, Thrive or other online groceries are not eligible at this time.
