ABOUT
George Duval a native New Yorker, from Hell’s Kitchen with a passion for creating one of a kind cocktails. He’s been behind the bar, shaking & mixing cocktails for some of Manhattan’s top restaurants, catering firms, and clubs. While working at these restaurants he perfected his bartending skills and developed his own individual style, taking something from each establishment.
His first experience behind a bar was at Negril restaurant in NYC, where he worked as a barback, stocking the bar and preparing all of the mixers and ingredients for the evening shift, he would spend countless hours organizing inventory, reading bottle labels and learning everything that he could about each spirit. Within a short time he was bartending. He then went on to work at Abigail Kirsch catering, Dean & Deluca off-premise, and the 40/40 club, which is owned by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.
At Cook Shop he developed his wine knowledge, and gain more insight, on the Importance of using, seasonal ingredients. He then went on to help with the creation of the cocktail list at Marc (Forge), Forgione. At Boom Boom Room inside the Standard hotel, he worked alongside other mixologists who shared the same passion for making cocktails, while servicing a high-end, celebrity clientele.
His love of beginning behind the bar, lead him and his wife to create Open Bar hospitality, a niche bar catering company providing beverage service for private events. George’s insistence on using only the best ingredients for his cocktail and impeccable customer service and Lisa’s aesthetics and attention to every detail quickly propelled the company to the forefront of the bar catering/mixology hospitality industry.
