Liz Hilton

Liz Hilton is a designer, entrepreneur, and soft good additive manufacturing innovator. Liz founded KNITit in 2015 in response to the global need for customized 3D knit innovation without the production commitment. What Liz discovered was there are many industries wanting to utilize 3D knitting but have not had the opportunity. Now KNITit is that opportunity. Soft Good Additive Manufacturing (or SoGAM) is scalable textile solutions that are produced in one process sans cutting sewing and waste. 100% of the material used in the SoGAM process is in the end product! Liz started out in the fashion industry in her hometown NYC. She attended F.I.T. Fashion Institute of Technology and the Politecnico di Milano in Italy. She also completed certification courses in Germany and Japan where she also worked for Stoll and Shim Seiki respectively, the leading manufacturers of CNC flat bed weft knitting machines. The KNITit studio is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids and serves as a resource for big companies, small companies, and individuals looking to invest in the 3D knitting movement.
