Jake is the CEO of Danville Group, a company that is on a mission to improve lives with innovative products and services, while fostering global connectivity and peace in the process.The Ted Kangaroo brand holds unique meaning for Jake who for decades has maintained a personal interest in the intersection of mental health, human flourishing and connection across borders and cultures. Coming from a family of doctors, including a father who is a psychiatrist, Jake has been on a quest to better understand mental health and emotional well-being his entire life. Jake carried this focus with him after living in China, starting at an early age, where he compared treatment approaches and mental health challenges in different societies and cultures.Jake is a business leader, innovator, and advisor as well as a corporate lawyer. He has led businesses through every stage of growth, from helping to scale startups globally, to transforming established companies. He previously served on the executive team of Li & Fung, the world’s largest export trading business, overseeing global brand acquisitions and divestitures. He later became CEO of Acorn International, a NYSE-listed company, where he repositioned the business into a leading e-commerce brand builder, before becoming CEO of Danville.Based in Shanghai since 2012, Jake holds a B.A. from Columbia University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
